Notes

Dancing is the album that marks the debut of Elisa into the U.S. and Canadian markets and collects some of the most popular ballads in the overseas audience selected personally by Elisa.

'Dancing' was built on the love that Stateside audiences had been feeling for Elisa ever since the title track was featured on Fox-TV's hit show 'So You Think You Can Dance?' in June, 2007. Immediately following Lacey Schwimmer and Kameron Bink's breathtaking routine, 'Dancing' shot into the Top 20 on iTunes (the only place it was available), and had since amassed more than 100,000 paid downloads. On YouTube, organic audiences reaction to the song had also resulted in more than one million views of the 'So You Think You Can Dance?' clip, making it the alltime most-viewed dance from the show online. Many people coast to coast and fans of 'So You Think You Can Dance?', were asking who was this Italian voice.

The album was released digitally in the U.S. on June 17, 2008 (and in stores from 15 July 2008 distribuited by Fontana Distribution for Universal International.

The iTunes U.S. digital version contains a bonus track, the cover of Rolling Stones' 'Wild Horses'.

'Dancing' is only one of the songs included. Other songs are 'Rock Your Soul', a beautiful ballad dedicated to Elisa’s father and talking about the desire of feeling as one and 'Rainbow', an ethereal and hypnotic ballad that's another leading track. Highlights also include the delicate yet passionately soaring album opener 'The Waves', the spare and aching 'Broken', the rock-flavored 'Stranger' and Elisa's gorgeous, almost elegiac take on Leonard Cohen's 'Hallelujah', the album's one cover.

The single picked to be on the air was a special remix edited by American producer Glen Ballard of 'Rainbow'. Ballard had already produced Elisa’s album 'Pearl Days'.

In December 'Dancing' ranked 5th on Billboard's poll for Best Album of 2008!

A different version of the album with the addition of the songs 'Stay', 'Una poesia anche per te' and 'Qualcosa Che Non C’E'' was released in Canada in August and was distributed by Universal Music Canada.

In support of this work, Elisa leaves for a short promotional tour made at first of live showcases, interviews, and meetings with students on college campuses. After that, in the fall of 2008, her first tour in North America across 16 cities follows: It is Elisa’s first ever tour of the best clubs in the United States and Canada playing before sold-out audiences.

The album jumps onto the iTunes America and Canadian charts.
